The apartment was small and I was looking for an interesting spot to take a shot that would somehow convey their personalities and relationship. It seemed perfectly natural to place them in a slightly awkward place and the washing line in their tight little back yard would serve that purpose. I’m really happy with the way this image turned out with the boys looking like some sort of alternative Indie band and their heads acting as music notes on an Australian inspired musical stave.

Outside the Gallery of Modern Arts (GoMA) in South Brisbane. We’d planned to photograph the bride in front of all of the suits. While we were waiting for the bride, this terrific scene unfolded before me. There are some interesting characters like the only man without a jacket – jeered by his friends, or the young man with an afro – concentrated on the job at hand. One can’t help but try to decipher all the little stories that were happening at that very moment.
