Melissa & Lech chose the spectacular Hunter Valley as their dream wedding location. One of those places we’ve always wanted to visit, but never had the chance.
We were truly humbled to be their chosen wedding photographers, and secretly punching the air at the prospect of putting a tick next to that one on our bucket list!
Their sweet and personal ceremony was held in the Pepper’s Creek Chapel, while their reception was just next door in the Barrel Room – a magnificent sandstone building that greets you with two large, heavy-set, Indian elephant doors. Once inside, the placement of the candle lights…the beautiful theming on each table…that delightful smell of old oaken barrels…all contributed to a welcoming warmth that could be seen and felt by all their guests.
It was the perfect place to throw a party…
…and these Polak’s certainly knew how to put on a good party!
You know how some people generalise that all Polak’s do is drink Vodka – well its not entirely true – but its not entirely false either! It certainly has its place when a good celebration is to be had!
For instance when a bride and groom enters the Reception, their presented with 2 shot glasses – one filled with water, and the other with the good stuff.
The winner, that is to say, the one that chooses rightly, is said to wear the pants in the relationship!
As the party continued, there was also a special appearance from Sydney based, polish folk dancing group ‘Syrenka’, which serenaded the newly weds with a special tribute dance…and…
…AND…
Melissa and Lech even organised for an ice cream van to supplement the taste buds of all of their sweet-toothed guests – and there were a LOT of sweet-toothed-ones!
The setting was perfect, the party was in full swing and all we could think about was how lucky we were to be here, in the Hunter, with these shining, happy, people!
