Tuyen and Joseph were married at St Stephen’s Cathedral and hosted their reception at Brisbane’s sumptuous Fix Restaurant. We were their wedding photographers.
That is a basic summary of their wedding, however I’d love to elaborate…
When Tuyen first contacted us I was a little sceptical because her wedding day was scheduled for March, 2013… but it was only November, 2011, at the time. Even though its now actually quite common – at the time, we’d never had an enquiry that far in advance!
Tuyen had been recommended by a friend who’s sister was on our Byron Bay storm image and we were super excited by her enthusiasm. We politely replied and scheduled a meeting and secretly hoped that we would get along.
I mention this because getting along with our couples is at the very top of our priority list. Unless geography is an issue, we always want to meet our prospective couples to see if we’re the right fit. It goes both ways. It’s so important to to feel at ease with your wedding photographer. To open up and place your trust in them.
When Tuyen and Joe came in, everyone was instantly at ease – they were so lovely and friendly! They told us their story – they’d been together for 10 years and how a recent event had reaffirmed Joe’s resolve that life was too short and that he had to cease the day. He had to let Tuyen know that that they belonged together. He didn’t want to wait any longer. He was certain.
Their wedding couldn’t come fast enough and with Tuyen being one of seven, it meant no shortage of beautiful little nephews and nieces to add plenty of fun and laughter to an already special day.
Joe was clearly touched as Tuyen ascended down the aisle. It felt as though everything had fallen perfectly into place. They made a commitment to one another, in front of their closest family and friends. Ready to walk through life hand in hand.
Joe and Tuyen, its been an absolutely pleasure getting to know you and having the opportunity to not only be your wedding photographers, but also to be treated as your friends.
